So, This Is Reverb 10: Defining Moment, Gift and Core Story

Yes, I know I'm late to these last few prompts. Don't blame me, blame my grandmother's internet-less house in New York that I just returned from yesterday (more on that trip later). But I'm not one to leave anything unfinished, so here we go...the end of my Reverb 10 journey.

But first, I want to say how much I've enjoyed participating, and look foward to Reverb 11!

The prompt

Describe a defining moment or series of events that has affected your life this year.

My response

Moving out on my own was a pretty defining moment for me this past last year. Sure, I'd been on my own before in college. But I had roommates. This time? My apartment, just me. On my own. Big girl moment.

The prompt

This month, gifts and gift-giving can seem inescapable. What’s the most memorable gift, tangible or emotional, you received this year?

My response

A few weeks after Molly passed away, we received a small package in the mail from the veterinarian. Inside was a card, signed by everyone who works there, along with a mold of Molly's little paw print and her name at the top. We've couldn't believe it. Every day, we look at that paw and remember the best worst dog we've ever known.

The prompt

What central story is at the core of you, and how do you share it with the world? (Bonus: Consider your reflections from this month. Look through them to discover a thread you may not have noticed until today.)

My response

Way to end this with a tough one, Reverb10!

At my core, my central story is one of discovery, balance and lots of laughter. I feel that I share this with the world every day simply by showing up and being myself.

I still haven't finished #reverb10! Whoops! I'll get to it... hopefully before the end of January!

Your vet is such a keeper. I love the gift they gave you to remember your dog by -- so thoughtful and perfect.
