[via]Apparently, I know myself really well because I predicted that I'd need a week's break from le blog, and would you look at that? I was right on the money.
Things have been good around these parts. New, exciting, busy, good. I flew to Vegas for a hot (and I do mean hot; like, 105 degrees hot) minute for business (I know, I know...business? Me? Come again?), and realized just how vastly different business for business in Vegas is from business for pleasure in Vegas (hi, Kathleen!). But thankfully, I'm all pleasured out (TWSS?) after BiSC. So that was that.
I'm still apartment hunting, but the lovely "Hey Ali, Why Don't You Really (Wo)Man Up and Be An Adult" gods decided to do me one better and take my car up into heaven with 'em. My beloved Rav4 (who's never had a name, which I find just as weird as you, if you find it weird at all) succumbed to the 130,000 miles on her and just. Couldn't. Take it. Anymore. In sane people's terms, the transmission was dying, and I think we all know how that goes. She was my first car, and I didn't realize just how attached I was to her until she was gone.
(Cue Big Yellow Taxi)
And so now I'm not only looking for a place to live, I'm also looking for a way to get there.
And so it goes.
I'm off to Colorado in a week for that previously mentioned writing job I was telling you about! Very excited for that.
This weekend was spent in my pajamas all day, doing a whole lot of nothing until going out last night with some girlfriends to Bar 210 which, frankly? The bar? Nahsomuch. Unless, you know, you like $15 dollar drinks the size of your pinky and creepy older men getting all up in your grill. Not that I'm knocking the people who do enjoy that...
How was your weekend? I've missed you. Sarcasm not at all intended.

I MISS you and so glad the trip to Vegas went well, even though it was more business minded. :) Have so much fun in Colorado and sometimes a relaxing weekend is just what the doctor ordered. Let's talk soon love, xo!
Ooh good luck Ali on the writing job in Colorado. Would you relocate if you got offered the position? I know writing jobs tend to have more flexibility so you might not have to, but just curious:) glad you had a decent time in Vegas despite the wretched heat!
Your car died!? Oh noes! I feel your pain... my clutch needs replacing and while my dad had my car this weekend, he backed it into a wall- no shit.
Let us commiserate.
I know what you mean about your car. They have been through alot with you and traveled alot of miles...my hubby wants me to get another car..we'll see.
Vegas. Right on!
Have a safe trip to Colorado.
All the best with the job!

Good luck on that writing gig. Amazing :) Happy for you!
May the car gods shine down upon you.
I once got a car, apartment, and job from Craigslist in the space of a month. Just sayin'. You'll have to weed through the creepers, but worth a shot...
